Affirmations & the power of your brain

Here is a little game for you…

Stop reading this…look around the space you are in and find something which is the colour Black… got it?!

Great!

Now look around you again and find something which is the colour blue…. It could be outside the window, on a piece of clothing… anything blue will do!

What just happened here?…

What happened is your brain took you off looking for the evidence that there was indeed something black and something blue around you…It wanted to confirm that such items and colours really exist….

And it worked…right?

Now… I want you to think about how this same method of thinking applies when you relate this to your self-beliefs?… When you tell yourself ‘I am a failure’…’I look ugly’ …’I am unlovable’…’I am stupid’…

What happens is the exact same thing that happened just now when you were looking for something black and something blue… Your brain looks for evidence in order to confirm that the statements you make about yourself are in fact true, and it will look and look until you get yourself into such cycle that all you see is evidence that you are all of the bad things you think you are.

The good news?!…

You can change the way you think! You can recreate these same thought patterns and affirmations but to be positive. ‘I am so kind’…’I am beautiful!’…’I am good enough’…

Your brain will find the evidence that such statements are in fact true. And in time it will help you to see you can make new, better decisions, which in turn, give a good impact on your life and you can start to finally lead the life you hope you might!
