Winter Solstice Releasing Ceremony
As the year draws to a close, the Winter Solstice marks a pivotal moment for reflection and renewal.
I have had the privilege of leading a releasing ceremony for many years, sometimes alone and other times surrounded by a circle of kindred spirits. Each gathering, whether in solitude or in sisterhood, has proven profoundly transformative and this 2024 Winter Solstice time I have decided to hold one again this time for a group of women at my home in Cornwall.
This time-honored tradition transcends the bounds of any single belief system, welcoming all who seek to shed the weight of the past year and step freshly into the new.
The Winter Solstice of 2010-2011 stood out as a monumental occasion where I personally felt a significant shift, these awakenings can be bittersweet, as increased awareness can make the trials of the world feel more acute. Yet, it is through this heightened state that we find the strength to let go.
This year, I invite you to join me in a very special in person gathering, where we will meet within the comforting circle of a tipi and an open fire. This ceremony is for every woman who feels the call to release what no longer serves her as we bid farewell to the old and make room for new possibilities.
Ceremony Details:
I will guide you through the process with an introduction to the way the ceremony will work and an invitation to journal thoughts down, you will then be encouraged to write down the aspects of your life that you wish to release on slips of paper, these might include outdated behaviours, painful memories, or any negative influences that have overstayed their welcome.
We will wrap our individual papers into fabric with herbs, the things you wish to release do not need to be shared and can be kept completely private. During the ceremony, we will then burn these slips in a small fire, an act symbolizing the release of these burdens.
Following the burning, you may choose to meditate, reflect quietly, or join in a shared discussion of hopes for the future. To enhance the experience, I will provide a sequence of words to read aloud and a music selection to inspire both during and after the ceremony.
Why Participate?
More than a ritual; this is a powerful act of self-liberation. I myself have experienced incredible healing from releasing ceremonies and over the years, participants have shared how this practice has allowed them to let go of deep-seated pain that has often followed them for years and embrace a lighter, more hopeful perspective.
The process of watching these pieces of paper burn, transforming from solid to smoke, is both cathartic and healing. It’s a physical representation of inner change, accompanied by the fragrant scent of sage and the soft crackle of fire.
Joining together in this ceremony underscores the power of community and the shared journey of healing. It’s a reminder that we are not alone in our struggles and that together, we can rise renewed. As we run with the wolves, wild and free, we reconnect with the essential strength within and the bonds that tie us to one another.
A Call to Gather:
Does this speak to you? Spaces are limited to ensure this remains an intimate and special coming together, book your place now and come to release the old and welcome the new with open hearts and minds.
It's a time to heal, to dream, and to prepare for the journey ahead.
I look forward to sharing this beautiful evening with you so that we can step into 2025 lighter, freer, and ready to meet whatever comes our way with grace and courage.
